Phrase Search

"aluminum bolt"

A list of catalog products that have the words aluminum and bolt next to each other. If you place quotation marks around any series of words, Order Online searches for that exact phrase and returns only products in the catalog that have these specific words associated with them.

Wildcard (* symbol)

The wildcard can be part of a keyword or product number/model. When searching the catalog for a product number, be sure to select the Product #/Model option in the Catalog Search box.

Note: If you search on just part of a word or product #/model, Order Online requires at least three alphanumeric characters (letters and/or numbers) before the * symbol.

drill*  

A list of products that begin with this word.

For instance, this entry will return drills and drillers.

AB-123

A list of products that have this product number. Order Online recognizes the dash in the product number as a sort of place holder and returns a list of products that begin with AB, optionally have a symbol in the middle, and continue with 123.

For instance, this entry will return product numbers AB-123, AB123, and AB_123.

AB123*

A list of products that begin with this product number.

For instance, this entry will return product numbers AB1234, AB1235, and AB1236.

765*912

A list of products that contain this exact sequence in the product number.

For instance, this entry will return product numbers 7651912, 7652912, and 7653912.

Or, Not, Near

Note: You can combine these terms (called Boolean operators) to search for a very specific product. For instance, you can enter the text, bolts near airplane not aluminum.

sheet or metal

A list of products containing either of these words. The product could contain both words, but not necessarily.

metal not sheet

A list of products that contain the word metal, except the ones that also contain the word sheet.

metal near sheet

A list of catalog products with the words metal and sheet within a 10-word distance of one another.
